Challenge
The organization needed a brand that would:
Communicate a sense of community and trust
Reflect its values of health, collaboration, and equity
Be approachable and accessible across different neighborhoods and demographics
Help strengthen recognition and engagement in both academic and community settings
Approach & Solutions
1. Value-Driven Visual Identity
The branding was built around the organization’s core principles: community collaboration, resilience, and equitable change. I developed a visual language that reflected these values through thoughtful use of color, typography, and form.
2. Color & Typography
A vibrant color palette was chosen to evoke energy, warmth, and approachability, while accessible typography contributed to a clear and friendly tone that could reach a broad audience.
3. Symbolic Graphic Elements
Supporting graphics were designed to subtly represent neighborhood connectivity and collective growth—using interlocking shapes and layered forms that convey networks, diversity, and transformation.
Outcome
The new brand identity gave Healthy Neighborhoods Study a strong, unified voice that reinforced their mission and helped foster deeper connections with the communities they serve. It provided a flexible, consistent visual system that could be used across digital, print, and in-person engagement efforts.
